The Role

We're looking for a talented and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to join our team on a part-time freelance basis. This role is perfect for someone who has had graphic design experience but is ready to grow their design skills while supporting real client work in a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work closely with our Lead Graphic Designer and broader marketing team to bring client visions to life across a variety of projects including branding, website design, social media graphics, and other marketing collateral pieces. The position does not require working from our Norwell, MA office but we do have office space available should you wish to.

*Please note: While we anticipate 5+ hours per week, exact hours are dependent on SHD Marketing's workload and client needs. There is room for growth and increased hours as our relationship develops and as the company's needs expand.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Lead Graphic Designer with client projects across multiple industries and marketing channels

• Create engaging marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, social media graphics and templates, digital and print ads, event signage, merchandise design, and more

• Support website design projects by creating visual elements, graphics, and design assets

• Assist with branding projects, including market research, logo concepts, brand collateral, and style guides

• Prepare print-ready files for various marketing materials

• Maintain brand consistency across all client deliverables

• Organize and manage design files and project assets

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of graphic design experience (completed degree or certification(s) in graphic design is a plus)

• Proficiency in both Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva

• Basic understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout

• A portfolio showcasing your design work (academic projects welcome)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines

• Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback

• Ability to manage multiple small projects and meet deadlines

• Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude

• Bonus: Familiarity with web design platforms like Squarespace

• Bonus: Demonstrated familiarity with accessibility standards and creating accessible designs

Hourly Rate & Pay Transparency Statement

$21/hour - $28/hour

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
